
Government officials, public figures, representatives of the private sector, architects and urban planning specialists attended the event. Delivering the opening speech at the ceremony, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Namig Hummatov stated that the “Tamal” Architecture Award has become a symbol of professionalism, innovative thinking and a responsible architectural approach. He noted that this year’s competition coincided with the 20th anniversary of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture and the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture”, emphasizing that the field of urban planning and architecture is a priority direction in state policy. He stated that this strategic line, defined by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, is successfully continued today by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Later, the best architectural projects of the past year were awarded. Within the framework of the awards, winners were announced in 6 nominations among 82 selected works out of 890 projects. The winners were awarded the “Tamal” prize and diplomas. Architect Ayyub Mirzayev of “ArchiCO Project” company was awarded the “Tamal” prize in the nomination “Transport, industry, communication, engineering buildings and structures” for the “Lachin Cable Car” project. It should be noted that the “Lachin Cable Car” project was developed and successfully implemented within the framework of close and goal-oriented cooperation with the Swiss company Sa Partners. This strategically important project is the result of reliable partnership established between the parties, strong engineering and technical potential, and an approach based on international quality standards. The project’s receipt of this prestigious award is a clear indicator of both the creative vision and professionalism of our architectural team, as well as the dedicated and highly responsible work of all specialists involved within the framework of joint cooperation.
